Matygo: Office 1.0

I’ve spent the bulk of my professional career being a contract software developer, to those of you not familiar with this lifestyle it boils down to a lot of time spent in coffee shops, my own house, and random offices burning hard on the project at hand.
While there are some pluses to this lifestyle (you meet some very interesting people at coffee shops, and I’ve found if you stay there long enough people start giving you free stuff) it certainly can become taxing, both on the body and productivity (read: those Starbucks chairs aren’t the most comfortable in the world).
So with big things on the horizon for Matygo, we decided it would be a great idea to get a nice little space of our own. A place where we could code in relative solitude, and avoid the distractions of home and busy coffee shops.
So that’s what we did!

Our new space is located in the Dominion Building (at the time of it’s construction the tallest building in the British Empire) located on the edge of Vancouver’s uber-hip Gastown. We are in suite 1203, our office provides a fantastic view of Victory Square (a nice little green space with a war memorial) and is a mere hop, skip, and jump from the various coffee shops, bistros, and pubs of the ‘best’ (in this writers opinion) part of downtown vancouver.

So if you are in the neighborhood, please don’t hesitate to stop in for a little visit and see what we’re up to.

Cheers,
.joe
